The Institue for Health Policy and Practice/New Hampshire Citizens Health Initiative partners with the Rural Center of Excellence on SUD Treatment at the University of Vermont on Rural Addiction. They are welcoming applications for their Opioid and Substance Use Treatment Training Scholarship Program. Previously offered in 2023, your colleagues in New Hampshire found this extremely beneficial. A limited number of scholarships are available. We recommend applying.

This program is specifically designed to support New Hampshire providers to increase their comfort treating patients with Opioid Use Disorder. The focus is on providing skills for providers who are new to prescribing, less experienced, under-prescribing, and/or hesitant, to becoming more comfortable with this domain of patient care.
The program offers members from three competitively chosen New Hampshire practices:
  • 2-day intensive program
  • Small group instruction by specialist clinicians and partners from UVM CORA and the New Hampshire Citizens Health Initiative
      • Education and collaboration on these and other topics:
  • Addressing MOUD treatment-related challenges
  • Supporting patients with complex needs related to OUD and other SUDs
  • Motivational Interviewing and other non-pharmacological strategies for working with patients with OUD
  • Training that satisfies the one-time, 8-hour, substance use treatment training requirement for all DEA registered practitioners
  • Continuing Education credits at no cost
  • The program will be held April 9-10, 2026, in Burlington, Vermont; recipients will receive complementary training materials, lodging, meals, and mileage reimbursement. For more information, visit https://uvmcora.org/our-programs/scholarship-program/
