Participate in this study to understand the physical experiences of healthcare work.

This study aims to understand the demands that healthcare jobs place on the people who perform them: what do we, as a society, ask of healthcare professionals, and what arrangements make that work feel more or less sustainable over the course of a career? I am especially interested in hearing about the physical experiences of healthcare work: how it smells, feels, and sounds; how workers build and maintain the physical skills and stamina their jobs require; and how they navigate these demands as their bodies age or experience other health/disability-related changes.
Both current healthcare professionals and those who have left the field in the past 5 years are invited to participate in one or both of the following study activities:
- A brief (~15 minute) anonymous survey (https://tinyurl.com/2p956vx3) (entry in a raffle for $50 gift card)
- A longer (45-90 minute) interview via Zoom ($20 gift card)
- This study has been approved by the Wheaton College Institutional Review Board
