Volunteers are Being Mobilized
“Wherever you turn, you can find someone who needs you. Even if it is a little thing, do something for which there is no pay but the privilege of doing it. Remember, you don’t live in the world all of your own.”
~Albert Schweitzer

Yesterday, the New Hampshire School Nurses Association and the New Hampshire Nurses Association met with officials of the New Hampshire Department of Public Health.

We learned that the NH Public Health system is stretched to its' limit and needs immediate help in the following areas:

  1. Infectious Disease Investigators / This involves follow up with confirmed cases and identifying their close contacts
  2. Infectious Disease Monitoring / Daily contact with cases on home monitoring.
  3. Call Center Triage: Rerouting calls to Public Health Nurses when appropriate, offering resources and guidance to others.

The data collected in this form will be shared next week with the New Hampshire Department of Public Health. They will be in contact with you by email when they are ready to on-board volunteers.

This survey is for medical professionals: ARNPs, RNs, LPNs, and LNAs. Retired nurses and those with expired licenses are also needed. We are hoping that many School Nurses will be available.

If you are NOT a medical professional, there still is great need across the state for whatever skill set you have. Many people who want to help others do not need health care experience to support efforts like educating the public about health and safety issues, answering phones at clinics and health hotlines, delivering meals to seniors, or supporting the nurses and doctors on the front lines. NH Responds is the clearing house for all volunteers. They can be reached at: NHResponds.org

Please feel free to share this email via forwarding it, or posting on social media.

Just heard that we have received just under 300 responses to this survey in less than 24 hours. New Hampshire Nurses rock!
