NHNA 2019 Position Statement on Nursing Delegation
Posted almost 6 years ago
The New Hampshire Nurses Association (NHNA) convened a volunteer panel of nurses representing different sectors of health care delivery in the state to examine the issue of nurse delegation to assistive personnel (previously identified as non-licensed or unlicensed personal). The Delegation Task Force examined current literature on nursing delegation, incorporating key components of the American Nurses Association and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing's 2019 Joint Guideline on Nursing Delegation, to formulate NHNA's Position Statement on Delegation. We have posted this statement to our website. Click here to view this statement.
In addition, Carol Allen, EdD, MSN, RN, and Chair of the Delegation Task Force, will be speaking on this position statement at our 2019 Spotlight on Nursing. She will use a series of case studies to elaborate on the delegation principals captured in this position statement. Click here for more information or to register for the Spotlight on Nursing on June 13th (5:30-8:00 pm). You can attend in Concord or online via Zoom Teleconference. 1.5 contact hours will be provided.
NHNA also wishes to thank all the members of the Delegation Task Force for their work on this Position Statement.
