Board Opportunity for NH Nurse

Posted about 5 years ago

The New Hampshire Nurses Association has been asked to see if there is a nursing leader who would like to serve on the New Hampshire Board of Registration of Medical Technicians.  Cynthia Gray, current Chair of the Board, is looking to step down from her position and is seeking to identify a replacement to recommend to the Governor for appointment.

The mission of the Board of Registration for Medical Technicians is to assure that the services provided by their registrants protect healthcare consumer against harm which may be caused by unqualified or impaired practitioners.  The Board is comprised of 5 members.

"Medical technician'' means a health care worker who is not licensed or registered by a New Hampshire regulatory board and who assists licensed health care professionals in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.  For the purposes of this chapter, medical technicians shall be limited to health care workers with access to controlled substances and with access to or contact with patients in a health care facility or in a medical establishment.

The Board currently meets monthly, to every other month, generally on the first Tuesday of the month, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am to review and approve applications. For more information consult the BRMT website at: https://www.oplc.nh.gov/medical-technicians/
